Glimpses of Heaven

"God is close to the broken hearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed" - Psalm 34:18 Losing someone you love is, simply put, heartbreaking. This week I found myself wanting to reach out to my dear friend Fay for some encouragement. I wanted to hear what...

Living Ready: A Tribute

A precious soul and dear friend, Fay, left this earth today a little sooner than expected. Nothing prepared me for the news as her husband, Glenn, and daughter, Gillian, shared the details with me over FaceTime. Up to that point, Fay was still on life support and the...

Beyond The Cover

We so often hear the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover!” I remember the first time I heard it, I was just a young school girl in the library with my class. If I’m not mistaken, it was my grade three class. We had this sweet, gentle librarian, Ms. Hearn, who always helped us pick out the best books and she knew the books we’d love. This one day while I sat on the floor scanning through the books, I overheard Ms. Hearn say to one of my classmates, “Don’t judge a book by its cover!” Curiously, I wondered what she meant by that.

Give Thanks

Let’s be honest, 2020 hasn’t been what we hoped it would be when the clock struck midnight that last day in December. We all shouted “Happy New Year” while we hugged and kissed those who were there to ring in the new year. No bubbles, no restricted numbers, no lockdowns! Who would have imagined such a thing? I know my mind couldn’t even fathom the thought had someone pre-warned me! I think I would have taken a rain check on 2020! Or maybe skipped it altogether.

God Holds Your Hand – Conclusion

Not only does God hold us by the hand, but He also holds us in His hand! John 10:27-29 says: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has...

God Holds Your Hand – Part 3

Holding hands is an intimate gesture. It’s a sign of togetherness. Sometimes when a person is sick, we will hold their hand to let them know we’re there. When a couple walks down the street, they may hold hands.I remember going to a Diana Krall concert with Steve. I...

God Holds Your Hand – Part 2

God Holds Your Hand – Part 1

God Holds Your Hand – Part 1

This may sound silly to you, but I take great comfort in the fact that God holds my hand. I like to know that He is right there beside me, holding on to me. Psalm 37, which happens to be one of my favorites, says in verses 23 and 24: “The Lord directs the steps of the...

Imagine

I really love a good romance - a novel, a movie, a TV show. A character has loved someone for so long, and finally they get to be together <sigh of relief>. I believe every one of us would like a happy ending... “And they lived happily ever after!” Some...
