When I was a little girl, one day it was announced over the speaker at school that there were puppies available for free. My Dad and I had already discussed the idea of getting a puppy. When I went home that day, I was confident that we were going to get a dog! I basically told Dad about the puppies and we went and picked one out. From what I remember, I did not have to beg him to get me a puppy... I didn’t have to cry or plead… I knew Dad was willing and able to get me one. And that’s exactly what he did.
Our heavenly Father knows how to give wonderful gifts to His children. I believe some have a false impression of God. They may think He wants to spoil all the fun. From what I’ve heard, without God, people often get themselves in a big mess. I believe God wants to protect people from much pain, heartache and sorrow. God wants you to do what you were born to do! He wants to set you free to be who He called you to be! He will give you what you need to accomplish His purposes in your life.
Matthew 7 – 9 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! 11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
