Apple’s motto is “Think different.”
The soldiers were mocking Jesus. They placed a crown of thorns on His head and put a purple robe on Him.
I believe this act of placing a crown of thorns on Jesus’ head was significant. The head houses all of our thoughts. The head represents the mind. I believe when Jesus died, He paid the price so that our minds could be at peace. I do not believe that the Christian ought to be tormented by fear, worry, self-loathing and the like.
It is critical for the Christian to have a renewed mind. This is what Romans says:
Romans 12 – 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
It is important, then, for the Christian to “think differently”. Our patterns of thinking, our mind-sets, need to change. Changing the way we think will lead us to act differently. When we start to think more like Christ, we will start to act more like Him.
