You may have heard this statement before: “Jesus didn’t come to make bad people good but to make dead people live!”
Ephesians 2:1 says, “Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins.”
The truth is that without God we are completely lost. We are hopeless. We are weighed down with all of our sin and guilt. We are like zombies. We are like the walking dead.
The beauty of the Gospel message is that God loved us so much, He didn’t want us to stay that way! When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are found! We have hope! All of our sin is washed away! We are ALIVE! That is amazing.
Ephesians 2:4,5 go on to say, “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.”
I’ll leave you with the words from another song I love:
