1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”
We have been called out of darkness into the light.
Light brings life. Living creatures and plants won’t survive without sunlight.
We need light to see. We can’t see in the darkness. We are blind when we are in the darkness.
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life. (John 8:12)”
When we have Jesus in our lives, we are truly living. We are walking in the light and we can see around us. We aren’t lost anymore. We aren’t blind anymore. We aren’t dead anymore. We can show God’s goodness to the world around us.
