Some people accuse their parents of being too hard on them. I can hear some people saying things like, “They forced me to go to church three times each Sunday, and I couldn’t even stay home to watch Fraggle Rock or Walt Disney!” Maybe you were punished for hanging out with the wrong crowd or smoking cigarettes.
Maybe you can turn this whole scenario around and think of it this way – maybe you should be thankful that someone sent you to church… maybe you should be thankful that someone was concerned about who you were with and what you were doing… maybe when your parents were “spoiling your fun”, they were actually saving your life.
Christian parents who love their children want their children to follow God’s path. They aren’t trying to ruin your life. They are actually wanting the best life possible for you.
